What happens if I submit a claim to RSS and the insurance company does not accept electronic claims?

Any claim that we are unable to submit electronically is printed and mailed by our HIPAA compliant mail center at no additional charge.

If we don’t currently have a claim form that has a blank for the NPI number can RSS still process our claims electronically?

Yes, RSS can put your NPI information into our system to ensure that it is submitted on all of your claims, even if you are sending your claims to us on a claim form that does not have a field for the NPI number. For assistance in adding your NPI number(s) into our system please contact the Claims Support Department at (866)712-9584 option 3.

Can we submit Medicaid claims to RSS?

Yes, RSS accepts claims for all payors. Very often Medicaid will require enrollment paperwork to be completed before RSS can submit claims electronically to them. However, when the enrollment process is complete, Medicaid claims will process just like all other claims. For information on which insurance companies require enrollment please contact the Claims Support Department at (866)712-9584 option 3.

If I submit a claim to RSS and the insurance company says does not receive it what should I do?

RSS recommends that you resubmit any claim outstanding longer than 30 days. If the claim is still not processed after second submission, contact our Claims Support Department at (866)712-9584 option 3 and a Claims Support Representative will be able to assist you with tracking the claim to determine the issue.

If I am submitting a claim that requires and attachment am I able to send it through RSS?

Yes, RSS accepts attachment for all payors. RSS will submit the claim and attachment together electronically to payors that have signed up to receive attachments electronically (RSS Payor Portal). If you submit a claim/attachment to a payor that has not signed up for the RSS Payor Portal, RSS will mail the attachment images to the insurance company at no additional charge.
